No Travel Year

Early this year, I have declared 2013 to be a NO TRAVEL YEAR for me. It’s not that I have traveled a lot, it’s that I want to travel more. And in order to do so, I need to fix my life and my finances to align with my goals.

So where did I start? I started by listing down what I have and what I do not have.

    WHAT I HAVE:
    – a start up business
    – passion and dedication
    – huge credit card debt

    WHAT I DO NOT HAVE:
    – savings
    – investments
    – insurance policies
    – cash

Well, basically I realized I do not even have the option to travel since I am literally broke – thanks to 2012, when I pretty much bummed around for the whole year. I just took on consultations and did not market my business for a year. (Still amazed how I survived though!)

The serious case of The Traveling CEO.
When I spent a few weeks in Bangkok last year, one of what I considered the best part of it is that I got to work on different places everyday. The guesthouse we stayed in did not have wifi in the room so I had to go out and look for wifi spots to check my emails. And that’s what I want to do. To be able to travel while working.

As we are in the 7th month of the year, I am still unsure if I will be able to travel as much as I want next year. So far, I have been taking care of the things that I DO NOT have using the things that I DO have.

    Someday… One Day…
